A bird's natural instinct is to forage for their food. Foraging is the act of searching for food. Help promote this behavior for your bird by selecting one of these toys.

This is an incerpt from Dr. Echols Captive Foraging DVD.  Birds inhibit 5 natural behaviors: Socializing, Grooming, Playing, Resting and Foraging.  If not allowed to forage, they may spend more of their waking hours socializing, grooming, playing and resting.  Many captive parrots, especially those kept singly, have limited socialization opportunities and spend their time vying for attention, excessively grooming, damaging their feathers or sitting idle. 

Foraging can help birds occupy their time in a healthy and productive manner.  Foraging can also be used to reduce some abnormal behaviors, increase activity and improve quality of life.  NOTE: Foraging is not a cure-all.  But properly providing foraging opportunities can help birds truly live in a captive environment.
